Microcirco Tesino: Wonder in a Small Tent

Microcirco Tesino is a festival dedicated to circus arts and live performance held in Pieve Tesino, a village on the Tesino plateau in the Valsugana valley, in the province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige. For an entire autumn weekend, a small circus tent set up along Via Brigata Abruzzi transforms into a space of wonder, hosting a rotating program of micro-performances including juggling, acrobatics, magic, illusionism, and puppetry.

Twelve Micro-Performances in a Micro-Tent

The festival's format is as simple as it is original: twelve micro-performances hosted within a micro-tent, each lasting approximately forty minutes. The shows, suitable for audiences of adults and children aged five and up, range from clown comedy to juggling, and from mentalism to puppet theater. Given the tent's limited capacity, booking is recommended, and the full schedule of performances is published by the organizers.

A Collaborative Local Project

Microcirco Tesino is organized by the Municipality of Pieve Tesino in collaboration with the Collettivo Microcirco, the PLAZ APS association, and the Bolla di Sapone Circus School of Trento—a group that travels throughout Trentino with its small tent and the region's creative artists. The festival is part of the village's autumn event calendar; Pieve Tesino is recognized as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and is known as the birthplace of Alcide De Gasperi.

Beyond the Circus: The Village Welcomes Visitors

During the festival, the village offers visitors a broader experience: the Museo Per Via, dedicated to the history of the famous Tesino peddlers who traveled across Europe selling prints and books, opens its doors for free throughout the weekend. Microcirco Tesino thus becomes an opportunity to discover the cultural and landscape heritage of Pieve Tesino and the Tesino plateau alongside the performances under the tent.
