Music and nature at 1,726 metres on the Piana di Vigezzo
The Meraviglia Festival is one of the most original events in the Piedmontese summer: a widespread music and nature festival held on the Piana di Vigezzo, at an altitude of 1,726 metres, in the municipality of Craveggia, in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola. Nestled among the peaks of the Val Vigezzo, in Piedmont, the plateau transforms for an entire weekend into a vast open-air stage, where music engages with the alpine landscape and the silence of the woods.
Founded in 2014 near MERA, in Valsesia, the festival moved to the Piana di Vigezzo in 2021, where it found its natural home. It is organised by a group of about thirty friends who have long nurtured the idea of an independent, authentic, and human-scale event, far from the logic of large commercial gatherings. The philosophy is that of a festival that celebrates the mountains, slow living, and contact with nature.
The heart of the Meraviglia Festival is its musical programme: live concerts and DJ sets ranging from electro-soul, nu-jazz, and cumbia to indie and singer-songwriter sounds, all in an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. The stages are set up directly on the high-altitude meadows, with the panorama of the Alps as a backdrop. The music accompanies the audience from the afternoon until late at night, resuming on Sunday morning.
The festival is much more than a music event. The programme includes numerous activities, many of which are free and included in the ticket:
One of the most beloved experiences is the free wild camping: participants can pitch their tents directly on the plateau and spend the night at altitude, under a starry sky far from light pollution. Alternatively, it is possible to stay in hotels and B&Bs in the valley, with the cable car included in the ticket.
The Meraviglia Festival is an invitation to slow down, immerse yourself in nature, and rediscover the value of community. Between a concert and a hike, a yoga session and a tasting, the audience experiences two days suspended between sky and mountain, in one of the most evocative corners of Piedmont.
The 2026 edition is held on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July on the Piana di Vigezzo, at 1,726 metres, in the municipality of Craveggia (Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Piedmont).
Saturday 11 July: opening from 11:00 am with various activities, live music and DJ sets from the afternoon until late at night, and astronomical observation at the end of the evening. Sunday 12 July: night trekking with sunrise at altitude on Cima Trubbio (2,064 m), morning activities, and a new day of concerts and DJ sets until the early afternoon.
The ticket includes concerts, most activities (yoga, pilates, trekking, sunrise at altitude, MegaWOW), the round-trip cable car for both days, and wild camping. Holistic massages, wine tastings, and paragliding flights are available for an extra fee. Free entry for children up to 6 years old and dogs.
The artist line-up for the 2026 edition will be announced by the organisers in the weeks preceding the festival.
The Piana di Vigezzo can be reached via the cable car that departs from the Prestinone hamlet of Craveggia (the round-trip ticket for both days is included in the entrance fee).
2-day pass (round-trip cable car included) and Sunday-only ticket available. Free entry for children up to 6 years old and dogs. Paid activities (massages, tastings, paragliding) must be booked separately.
Bring layered clothing: temperatures at altitude drop significantly at night. For wild camping, you need your own tent (or you can rent one). A restaurant and the Cucina Meraviglia, offering vegetarian and vegan options, are available on-site.
