The 2025 edition
The second edition of Menzel el Emir and the Flavors of the Mediterranean was held on Wednesday, September 4, 2025, at 8:00 PM at the La Dispensa Organic Farm, in Contrada Segretaria 12 in Misilmeri, in the Province of Palermo. The evening, organized by the Pro Loco of Misilmeri, celebrated the town's Arab origins through couscous reinterpreted by some of the most appreciated Sicilian chefs.
Among the chefs at the stove were Nino Ferreri (Limu restaurant in Bagheria, one Michelin star), Nicola Bandi (Osteria Il Moro, Trapani), Giuseppe Calvaruso (Uovo di Seppia, Palermo), Gian Filippo Gatto ('A Cuncuma restaurant, Palermo), and the instructors from the TED Academy, Fabrizio Di Cara and Bina La Corte. The dishes were paired with sparkling wines from excellent Sicilian wineries such as Alessandro di Camporeale, Brugnano, Gurrieri, Murgo, Barraco Antonino, and COS.
The tasting, which required reservations, took place on the farm's panoramic terrace, among olive and citrus groves, confirming the formula that combines haute cuisine, native wines, and the promotion of Misilmeri's Mediterranean roots.
