Six days of meetings, exhibitions, shows, and sports at the Rimini Expo Centre
The Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples, known simply as the Rimini Meeting, is one of Italy's most important cultural events. Since 1980, it has animated the pavilions of the Rimini Expo Centre, the large Rimini Fairgrounds, in the heart of Romagna, every late August. Promoted by the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples Foundation, the event originated within the experience of Communion and Liberation but has established itself as a space for dialogue open to personalities from all cultural, political, and religious backgrounds.
The Meeting is distinguished by the extraordinary variety of its offerings. Over six days, there are conferences with hundreds of Italian and international speakers, exhibitions curated on historical, scientific, artistic, and spiritual themes, theatrical and musical shows, sporting events, the Children's Village dedicated to the youngest, and a rich catering area. Everything is made possible by the work of thousands of volunteers, the true organizational heart of the event.
The 47th edition will be held from August 21 to 26, 2026, under the title "The love that moves the sun and the other stars", the final verse of Dante's Paradiso. The theme invites reflection on love as a force capable of setting the entire universe in motion and transforming reality, in the face of present-day challenges: conflicts, artificial intelligence, the search for meaning. The edition is marked by the visit of Pope Leo XIV, the guest of honor: this is the first papal visit to the Meeting since the historic presence of John Paul II in 1982.
For the Municipality of Rimini and the entire Emilia-Romagna region, the Meeting represents one of the most attractive summer events, capable of drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors and animating the city beyond the Fairgrounds. Admission to the event and parking are free, confirming the popular and welcoming nature of an event that for over forty years has made Rimini a capital of dialogue among peoples for a week.
From August 21 to 26, 2026, the pavilions of the Rimini Expo Centre will host the 47th edition of the Meeting, titled "The love that moves the sun and the other stars". The theme, inspired by Dante, proposes a reflection on love as the force that moves the universe and transforms reality, in the face of the conflicts, artificial intelligence, and search for meaning of our time.
The edition is marked by the extraordinary presence of Pope Leo XIV, guest of honor, expected on the afternoon of Saturday, August 22: the first papal visit to the Meeting since John Paul II in 1982. The exhibition spaces exceed 10,000 square meters, with over 170 partner companies.
