A dive into the Middle Ages in the shadow of the Tower
The Medieval Festival of Mesenzana, also known as Mesenzana Ducale, is the historical re-enactment that takes the village of Valcuvia, in the province of Varese, back in time at the end of summer. The setting for the event is the Tower of Mesenzana, the symbol of the town, around which shows, encampments, and activities unfold.
The protagonists of the festival are knights in armour, archers, falconers, and artists who showcase ancient arts and crafts. The public can admire spectacular costume combats, watch bird of prey demonstrations, and participate in workshops and interactive activities that bring medieval daily life back to life. There are also food stalls with traditional dishes and areas designed for the fun and learning of children, including medieval games and educational activities.
The event is organized by the association I Mastini della Torre together with the Municipality of Mesenzana and is a highly anticipated annual event, capable of animating the village for an entire weekend. An event that enhances the historical heritage and community of the Municipality of Mesenzana, in the heart of Valcuvia and the province of Varese.
