About Medieval Festival of Affi

Every year in June, the historic center of Affi, a small town in the hinterland of Lake Garda in the province of Verona, takes a step back in time with its Medieval Festival. For two days, the streets of the village are filled with knights, archers, flag-wavers, musicians, jugglers, and costumed artisans: blacksmiths, potters, and weavers demonstrate the crafts of yesteryear, while the medieval market, taverns, banquets, and fireworks displays animate the re-enactment. An event of strong identity that attracts thousands of visitors to the Alto Garda Veronese area each year.

Affi Returns to the Middle Ages

The Medieval Festival of Affi is one of the most well-known historical re-enactments in the hinterland of Lake Garda. Every year, in June, the historic center of Affi (province of Verona, Veneto) transforms into a medieval village: alleys, courtyards, and small squares fill with artisan stalls, taverns, and costumed characters that transport visitors to the atmosphere of the Middle Ages.

Knights, Archers, and Artisans

The program combines itinerant shows and moments of great visual impact. Among the protagonists: flag-wavers and drummers, medieval dance groups, archers, jugglers, and fire-eaters. Artisans – blacksmiths, potters, weavers – work live in the workshops set up along the streets, while workshops also involve children with pottery and traditional games.

The Banquet and the Fireworks

The convivial heart of the festival is the medieval banquet, served in the evening in the village taverns. The two days conclude with a fireworks display that illuminates the historic center, while processions, pageants, and animated readings mark the rhythm of the re-enactment.

An Event of Identity for Alto Garda

Organized by the Comitato Festa Medievale di Affi (Affi Medieval Festival Committee), the event has become an anticipated appointment for the entire hilly area between Garda and Valdadige over the years. Its location, just a few kilometers from the lake and the Affi highway exit, makes it easily accessible and an ideal destination for an early summer trip in the province of Verona.
