Every June, the Castello Pinelli Gentile in Tagliolo Monferrato, located in the heart of the Alto Monferrato in the province of Alessandria, hosts the end-of-year recitals of the Matra&Friends Musical and Cultural Association. Two evenings, starting at 9:00 PM, showcase the work done throughout the year by students of the local music school, set within one of the most evocative historical venues in the region.

Two evenings, two departments

The program is divided into two distinct events. The first evening is dedicated to the classical music department, featuring instrumental and vocal performances ranging from chamber repertoire to study pieces. The second evening highlights the contemporary music department, with a more modern concert involving bands, singers, and young instrumentalists from the association.

Young local stars

These recitals are not just a celebration for the Matra&Friends school students. Both evenings also feature performances by pupils from the music-focused middle school of the "Pertini" Comprehensive Institute in Ovada and the Tagliolo Monferrato primary school, highlighting the close bond between the association and the local schools of the Ovada area. It is a significant milestone for the young performers, who experience the thrill of a public concert in front of family, friends, and music lovers.

An exceptional setting

The Castello di Tagliolo, still inhabited by the Marchesi Pinelli Gentile, is one of the best-preserved manors in the Alto Monferrato and provides an intimate and cozy atmosphere for the recitals. In case of bad weather, the events are moved to the Municipal Hall to ensure they can take place regardless of conditions.

A community event

The end-of-year recitals represent a festive moment for the entire municipality of Tagliolo Monferrato and the Ovada area: music becomes a tool for growth for the youth and an opportunity for the community to come together. Admission is free, in line with the educational and cultural mission of the Matra&Friends Association.
