The seaside beer festival in Marina di Vietri sul Mare
MareBirra was born in 2026 in Marina di Vietri sul Mare, in the province of Salerno, with a simple and successful idea: to bring craft beer culture directly to the seafront, where the Amalfi Coast meets the Gulf of Salerno. The first edition took place from Thursday, May 7 to Sunday, May 10, 2026, transforming the pedestrian stretch of Via Petrara and the area in front of the famous Due Fratelli rocks into a large gourmet village overlooking the water. A format that immediately found its audience, as it combines two things Vietri never lacks: the view and great food.
The heart of the event is the gastronomic offering. More than forty stands are set up along the pedestrian promenade and remain open to the public every evening from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM, serving light, red, and dark beers from Italian and international breweries paired with traditional Campanian dishes and street food specialties. Highlights of the debut edition included:
Alongside the tastings, there are moments for deeper exploration: themed workshops and meetings with producers and master brewers, designed to show the public—enthusiasts and curious visitors alike—how craft beer is made.
The entertainment program is free and kicks off every evening at 9:00 PM, with the stage set just a stone's throw from the sea. The first edition featured a lineup that was explicitly popular and tied to the Neapolitan and Campanian identity:
For families, there is a children's area with entertainment and attractions, active for all four nights: a choice that made MareBirra an event suitable for younger audiences, not just beer lovers.
MareBirra is organized by the Pro Loco of Vietri sul Mare in collaboration with the Merchants' Association and the Restaurateurs' Association of Vietri sul Mare, with the technical support of "La Fonte" by Vincenzo Benincasa and the backing of the Municipality of Vietri sul Mare. The stated goal is twofold: to showcase local excellence by connecting restaurateurs, producers, and tourism operators, and to extend the season by bringing visitors to the Coast in spring, before the peak summer crowds arrive and when the village can be enjoyed at a more relaxed pace.
The most evocative way to reach the event is by sea. During the four days, Travelmar operated evening ferry services from the Porto Masuccio Salernitano in Salerno to Marina di Vietri, at a cost of 10 euros round-trip per person, including a complimentary beer voucher with the ticket: you arrive in just a few minutes of sailing, avoid parking issues entirely, and get to see the illuminated coast from the water.
A municipality in the province of Salerno, in Campania, Vietri sul Mare is universally known for its ceramics, with its majolica-tiled domes, artisan workshops, and colors that define the town's identity. It is also the first stop on the Amalfi Coast for those arriving from Salerno, and Marina di Vietri, with its beach and the Due Fratelli rocks, is its most recognizable image. An event like MareBirra, with stands lined up in front of the sea, therefore has an added value that is difficult to replicate elsewhere: the setting is already part of the program.
Four days, from May 7 to 10, 2026, for the debut of MareBirra in Marina di Vietri sul Mare. The event, promoted by the Pro Loco of Vietri sul Mare with the Merchants' Association and the Restaurateurs' Association and the support of the Municipality, occupied the pedestrian stretch of Via Petrara and the area in front of the Due Fratelli with over forty food and beer stands.
The official inauguration took place on Thursday, May 7 at 7:00 PM, the daily opening time for the stands, which then served until midnight. Every evening at 9:00 PM, the stage by the sea hosted a free-entry event, while the area dedicated to children accompanied all four evenings with entertainment and attractions. To reach the event without parking problems, Travelmar activated an evening connection from Salerno to Marina di Vietri for 10 euros round-trip, with a complimentary beer voucher included in the ticket.
From Thursday, May 7 to Sunday, May 10, 2026, stands open daily from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM along Via Petrara and in the area facing the Due Fratelli rocks. Themed workshops and meetings with producers and master brewers are scheduled.
