The non-competitive walk through the hamlets of the Vigezzo Valley
The Marcialonga Panoramica of Druogno is one of the most beloved events of the summer sports calendar in the Vigezzo Valley, in the Municipality of Druogno, in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola (Piedmont). This is not a competitive race: it is a non-competitive, non-timed walk designed for families, hikers, and enthusiasts who want to discover the area by walking at a leisurely pace, immersed in the views of the Lepontine Alps.
The route is a 13-kilometre loop, with approximately 450 metres of elevation gain, starting and ending at the Capanno degli Alpini in Druogno. The path passes through the village's characteristic hamlets one after another: Orcesco, Gagnone, Sasseglio, Coimo, Albogno, and Sagrogno, offering glimpses of the typical stone-roofed houses and alpine architecture that make Druogno famous as the village of mountain painters.
The event is truly for all ages: walkers from 6 to 99 years old can participate, with a maximum completion time of about 4 hours. For children and families, there is a 1-kilometre mini-lap in the historic centre of Druogno to be enjoyed together without haste.
The Marcialonga of Druogno is one of the five stages of the Corri in Vigezzo circuit, the calendar that links non-competitive walks and runs in the valley's municipalities, from Re to Craveggia, from Buttogno to Druogno. A project that enhances collaboration between the Vigezzo communities and attracts more participants year after year.
Organised by Atletica Ossolana Vigezzo with the collaboration of the Municipality of Druogno and numerous local entities, the Marcialonga is also a moment of celebration for the town: at the end of the walk, it is possible to stop for lunch at the Capanno degli Alpini, sharing a meal in good company. The registration fee includes a souvenir for all participants and a race kit for the first registrants.
The 2026 edition of the Marcialonga Panoramica of Druogno, part of the Corri in Vigezzo circuit, renews the charm of the non-competitive walk through the hamlets of the Vigezzo Valley. The start is set for 10:15 am from the Capanno degli Alpini, on a 13-kilometre loop route with 450 metres of elevation gain that touches Orcesco, Gagnone, Sasseglio, Coimo, Albogno, and Sagrogno.
Among the year's novelties, the flying finish line in Coimo, established in memory of Bruno Zanoletti, and a 1 km mini-lap dedicated to children. At the end, a convivial lunch at the Capanno for all participants.
Maximum completion time: 4 hours. Event open to everyone from 6 to 99 years old.
