A walking tradition in the heart of the Trebbia Valley

The Marcia del Gonfalone is one of the longest-standing fun-walks in the Piacenza area. It takes place in Gossolengo, a municipality in the Province of Piacenza, in Emilia-Romagna, at the gateway to the Trebbia Valley and just a few kilometers from the provincial capital. The start and finish are set in Piazza Roma, in front of the Town Hall, the heart of the town.

Organized by the Gruppo Sportivo Marciatori Italpose A.S.D., the event is part of the FIASP circuit (Italian Federation of Amateurs for All Sports) and is non-competitive: there are no stopwatches or rankings, just the pleasure of walking together at your own pace.

Three routes for all abilities

The Marcia del Gonfalone traditionally features three routes of different lengths, so everyone can choose based on their fitness and desire to walk:

• a short loop, suitable for families and children;
• an intermediate route, ideal for those looking for a medium-distance walk;
• the long 15 km route, designed for the most trained walkers.

The itineraries wind through the streets of Gossolengo and the surrounding countryside, in a gentle landscape of plains and rolling hills that characterizes this stretch of the Trebbia Valley.

A celebration for the whole town

In addition to the sporting aspect, the Marcia del Gonfalone is a moment of community gathering for Gossolengo: in the morning, the square comes alive with walkers from all over the province and nearby towns, in a festive atmosphere that ideally opens the spring walking season in the Piacenza area. The event is part of the rich calendar of events that the Municipality and local associations offer between spring and summer.
