The international half marathon through the villages and historic centre of Pordenone
Established in 2006, the Maratonina Internazionale dei Borghi Città di Pordenone has rapidly grown to become an event of international renown, attracting some of the best African middle-distance runners to Friuli, alongside hundreds of amateur runners. A 21.097-kilometre FIDAL-certified half marathon that animates the city's historic centre every year at the end of September.
The charm of the race lies in its course: starting from the heart of the city, the route winds through the ancient arcades and frescoed palaces of the centre, passes through the villages of Rorai and Torre, skirts the Seminario park, and concludes with a 500-metre final straight leading athletes to the finish line in Piazza XX Settembre, Pordenone's main square.
Organised by the ASD Equipe association, the Maratonina is much more than a competitive race: it's a popular festival that involves entire neighbourhoods, with spectators cheering on the runners along the streets and in the districts. Alongside the competitive race, there are also non-competitive distances designed for those who want to experience the event's atmosphere without the pressure of the clock.
With the patronage of the Municipality of Pordenone, the event showcases the city's urban heritage, transforming streets and squares into an open-air stage. It's an original way to discover the city's villages by running, or simply to cheer along the route.
On Sunday, September 27, 2026, Pordenone celebrates the 20th edition of the Maratonina Internazionale dei Borghi. The half marathon, 21.097 km long and FIDAL-certified, maintains its city course through the historic centre, the villages of Rorai and Torre, and the Seminario park, with the usual final straight towards Piazza XX Settembre.
