The international salsa and Latin dance festival in the heart of Rome
Mambo Italiano is the international salsa and Latin dance festival that brings the vibrant energy of Caribbean rhythms to the heart of the Italian capital. Hosted at Palazzo Brancaccio, a historic late-19th-century noble residence on Via Merulanaโjust a few minutes' walk from the Colosseum and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggioreโthe event transforms one of Rome's most evocative areas into a grand meeting point for Latin dance enthusiasts.
The program is designed to blend professional training with pure fun. During the day, attendees can participate in workshops led by international masters and dancers, while evenings are dedicated to socials and grand parties that continue until the early hours. The festival focuses on community: dancing, sharing steps and experiences, and forging friendships that transcend national borders.
In addition to Palazzo Brancaccio, the main venue for Saturday and Sunday, the festival utilizes other historic center locations: on Friday, the party moves to the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, while workshops are held at the Nazionale Spazio Eventi, just a short walk away. For those who want to keep dancing, an afterparty is hosted at the Stilnovo Club. This multi-venue setup allows participants to experience the festival while strolling through the charming streets of the Esquilino and Monti districts.
A key feature of the festival is its late March timing, deliberately scheduled away from the peak tourist season. This ensures milder temperatures, fewer crowds, and the chance to enjoy Rome with more tranquility between workshops. For visitors, the festival becomes a unique opportunity to discover the capital's heritage, from the Colosseum to the Imperial Forums, all within walking distance of the venue.
Launched in 2025 with a highly successful debut, Mambo Italiano has quickly established itself on the Italian Latin dance festival calendar. Organized by The Dancehouse school, the event attracts an ever-growing international community and is now a landmark gathering for salsa lovers in the Lazio region and the city of Rome.
The second edition of Mambo Italiano was held in Rome from Thursday, March 26 to Monday, March 30, 2026, confirming the five-day format dedicated to salsa and Latin dance. The main venue was Palazzo Brancaccio (Via Merulana 248), complemented by the Palazzo delle Esposizioni for the Friday party and the Nazionale Spazio Eventi for workshops, with afterparties at the Stilnovo Club.
As with the first edition, the program alternated between daytime workshops with international instructors and evening socials, in a welcoming community atmosphere. The choice of late March allowed participants to experience Rome away from the peak tourist season crowds.
Palazzo Brancaccio is located at Via Merulana 248, in the center of Rome. By metro: take line A or B to Termini station, or line B to Cavour or line A to Vittorio Emanuele. Rome Fiumicino Airport is connected to Termini station by the Leonardo Express train (approx. 30 minutes).
Participation requires a pass (full passes and daily/evening passes are available), which can be purchased on the official The Dancehouse website. Early booking is highly recommended.
The venue is just a few minutes' walk from the Colosseum and Termini station, with many accommodation options in the immediate vicinity. Remember to bring comfortable dance shoes.
