The Malatestian MTB Tour is an event dedicated to cycling lovers that takes place in Mondaino, a splendid hilltop village in the Province of Rimini, Emilia-Romagna. Organized by the Mondaino Pro Loco Tourist Association in collaboration with the Municipal Administration, the event offers a non-competitive cycling tour through the green hills of the Mondaino area and its surroundings.

The charm of Mondaino and the Malatesta family

The name of the event recalls the historic Malatesta family, lords of Rimini who dominated these territories and left their mark on the fortified villages of the hinterland. Mondaino is famous for its scenic Piazza Maggiore, one of the very few semi-circular squares in Italy, nicknamed the "frying pan" for its peculiar shape. It is from here that the ride begins and where participants return to conclude the day in conviviality.

A route through nature and tradition

The route winds through the gentle hills of the Valconca, offering participants picturesque views of the Rimini and Marche hinterland. It is a medium-difficulty route, designed to be accessible to a wide audience of cyclists, traversing dirt roads and paths immersed in greenery before bringing cyclists back to the magical circular square of Mondaino.

Bikes allowed and convivial spirit

The event welcomes various types of bicycles: manual MTBs, e-bikes, and gravel bikes, thus including enthusiasts of all levels and preparations. More than a race, the Malatestian MTB Tour is a celebration: upon return, participants gather in the square to share a meal and toast together, accompanied by music and an atmosphere of joy that characterizes the initiatives of the Mondaino Pro Loco.

Mondaino is a municipality rich in events: from the famous Palio del Daino, one of the most established medieval re-enactments nationally, to Fossa, Tartufo e Venere dedicated to typical autumn products.
