Magnalonga

A walk through taste, art, and countryside

The Magnalonga is one of the most cherished events of the summer in Mussolente, a town in the foothills of the province of Vicenza. It is not a race nor a simple festival: it is a food and wine walk of about 10 kilometers that winds through the countryside of the hamlet of Casoni, alternating gourmet stops and artistic exhibitions. Departure is free, in the late afternoon, from the town's sports centers, and the route is taken at a leisurely pace, stopping at each station to savor a different dish.

Five refreshment points, from appetizer to dessert

The heart of the event are the five refreshment points distributed along the route, each managed by a local company or organization. The offerings range from pasta to fried fish, from 'pastin con polenta'—a traditional foothills dish—to ice cream and a final dessert. Gluten-free pasta is available upon reservation for those who need it.

Art along the way

What makes the Magnalonga unique is the presence of about fifteen artists—painters, sculptors, artisans, and collectors of vintage motorcycles—who animate eleven points along the route with their works and exhibitions. Walking thus becomes a small journey into local creativity.

An event for everyone

The route is suitable for anyone, including families with strollers, and takes place regularly even in case of rain. The initiative is organized by Pro Loco Mussolente Casoni APS, which has been promoting the traditions and territory of this corner of Veneto between the hills and the plains of Vicenza for years.
