About LSD Festival

LSD Festival – Books Sounds Destinations is the cultural event that enlivens Fidenza every spring, in the province of Parma, weaving together literature, music, and contemporary visions. In the spaces of the Corte and Palazzo Ex Orsoline (Spazio Of), for three days there are book presentations, concerts, DJ sets, exhibitions, and workshops, all with free admission. Each edition revolves around a guiding theme and attracts major names in Italian culture, from fiction to journalism, from singer-songwriters to illustration.

A festival that unites books, sounds, and destinations

The LSD Festival – Books Sounds Destinations is the main cultural event in Fidenza, a city in the province of Parma in Emilia-Romagna. Born in 2022, the festival has consolidated a recognizable formula edition after edition: to create a dialogue between the written word, live music, and new visions of the contemporary world. The three letters in the title – L, S, D – stand for Libri (Books), Suoni (Sounds), and Destinazioni (Destinations), the three souls that intertwine along an intense program of presentations, concerts, conversations, exhibitions, and workshops.

The venue: Corte and Palazzo Ex Orsoline

The heart of the event is the Corte and Palazzo Ex Orsoline complex, the cultural space known as Spazio Of, in the historic center of Fidenza. Here, among courtyards, halls, and outdoor spaces, the public moves from one event to another, experiencing the festival as an immersive and widespread experience, from morning until late evening.

A different theme each year

Each edition of LSD revolves around a guiding theme that directs the choice of guests and meetings. The festival's philosophy is to address the great questions of the present – freedom, identity, transformation, collective responsibility – through the voices of literature, journalism, and music. The festival hosts male and female writers, journalists, singer-songwriters, and illustrators capable of interpreting their time with an original perspective.

Not just books: music and workshops

  • Book presentations and conversations with authors from the Italian cultural scene;
  • Concerts, DJ sets, and musical moments to close the evenings;
  • Exhibitions and workshops, also for children;
  • A section dedicated to silent books and wordless illustration;
  • Bicycle tours and proposals that invite discovery of the territory.

Fidenza and the lands of Parma

Hosting a literary and musical festival in Fidenza is no coincidence: the municipality is located along the ancient Via Emilia, in an area rich in history, from the famous Romanesque Cathedral of San Donnino to the Fidenza Village. The event offers residents and visitors one more reason to discover this corner of Emilia-Romagna in spring, when culture takes over the city's spaces. LSD also stands out for a specific choice: all meetings, concerts, exhibitions, and workshops have free admission, in the name of accessible culture for all.

A cultural reference point

Organized by the L.O.C. Libera Officina Culturale Association with the support of the Municipality of Fidenza, the Cariparma Foundation, and under the patronage of the Emilia-Romagna Region, the event has become in a few years an anticipated appointment for those who love books and live music. The festival also includes some preview events in neighboring municipalities, confirming a vocation that looks to the entire territory.

LSD Festival — edition 2026

The fifth edition of LSD Festival – Books Sounds Destinations took place in Fidenza from May 22 to 24, 2026, with a preview on May 21, in the spaces of the Corte and Palazzo Ex Orsoline. The chosen theme was "Let's break the lines. Deep roots for change," an invitation to reflect on freedom of choice and collective responsibility. Three days of free-admission meetings, concerts, exhibitions, and workshops with major names in Italian culture.

LSD Festival 2026: "Let's break the lines"

The fifth edition of the LSD Festival was held in Fidenza from May 22 to 24, 2026, preceded by a preview on May 21. This year's theme, "Let's break the lines. Deep roots for change", guided a program dedicated to individual freedom, choice, and the capacity for transformation.
