The singing competition dedicated to love songs in the historic center of Stimigliano, in Sabina
Perched on a hill in the Sabina region, the village of Stimigliano opens its historic center to an event that blends music, tradition, and emotion. The "From Stimigliano to Sanremo" Love Song Festival is the heart of the broader "Stimigliano in Love" event: for four days, the squares and alleys of the town, in the Municipality of Stimigliano in the province of Rieti, come alive with concerts, scenic displays, and festive evenings dedicated to the universal theme of love.
On Friday and Saturday, starting at 6:00 PM, the competition itself takes place: cover bands and singer-songwriters, selected from about seventy contestants, perform before a jury of entertainment figures and a public vote. The format rewards the best interpreters of the love song, who receive an award later presented in Sanremo in February: a symbolic and concrete bridge between the small Sabina village and the Italian capital of pop music.
During the event, the historic center turns into a true open-air museum themed around love. Along the Lovers' Path, you will find poetic installations such as the Giant Frame, the Portales, the Butterfly Square, the Promise Bench, the Kiss Alley, and the iron heart where you can leave your own padlock. A route designed for couples and families, making the village even more enchanting on summer evenings.
In addition to the competition, the program features two evenings of dance music in the main square on Thursday and Sunday, open to audiences of all ages. The convivial dimension is not forgotten: food stalls managed by Pro Loco volunteers offer typical Sabina products, from extra virgin olive oil to traditional desserts, to accompany the evenings with the flavors of the territory.
The event stems from the commitment of the Pro Loco of Stimigliano together with the Municipality and numerous local associations, involving local media and hosted by Emanuela Petroni. The event enjoys the patronage of the Lazio Region and represents an example of how a small Sabina village can build an identity-defining event capable of attracting visitors and, at the same time, enhancing its own heritage and community.
From July 16 to 19, 2026, Stimigliano, in the heart of the Sabina region, hosts a new edition of the "From Stimigliano to Sanremo" Love Song Festival, the musical heart of the "Stimigliano in Love" event. The historic center lights up with the singing competition, the Lovers' Path installations, and the festive evenings organized by the Pro Loco with the patronage of the Lazio Region.
The competition, scheduled for Friday and Saturday from 6:00 PM, features cover bands and singer-songwriters selected from about seventy contestants, evaluated by a jury of entertainment figures and the public vote. The winners receive an award that will be presented in Sanremo in February.
Stimigliano is located in the lower Sabina area, in the province of Rieti. By car, it can be reached via the A1 motorway (Ponzano Romano-Soratte exit) and the Via Salaria. By train, the Stimigliano station, on the Rome-Orte line, is just a few kilometers from the historic center where the event takes place.
Admission to the evenings is free. Food stalls managed by the Pro Loco are set up in the historic center, offering typical Sabina products. It is recommended to park in the areas on the outskirts of the village and continue on foot along the Lovers' Path.
