Live music among the trulli, free entry in the Rione Monti district
The Locus Festival is Apulia's premier traveling music festival. Founded in 2005 in Locorotondo and organized by the Bass Culture association, it brings major Italian and international music stars to town squares, historic masserie, and heritage sites across the region every summer. For its 22nd edition, the festival runs from June 18 to September 2, 2026, visiting various Apulian towns, including a stop in Alberobello, in the province of Bari.
The Alberobello date is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2026, in Largo Martellotta, in the heart of the picturesque Rione Monti, the most famous district of the city of trulli. The concert is free to attend and serves as a special moment to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the inclusion of the trulli of Alberobello on the UNESCO World Heritage list, which took place in 1996. Live music and heritage preservation thus meet in one of Italy's most photographed settings.
The star of the evening is Ditonellapiaga, one of the most original and recognizable voices in contemporary Italian pop, fresh from her experience at the Sanremo Festival and the success of her latest album. Opening the concert is Carolina Bubbico, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and singer from Salento who weaves together jazz, electronics, vocals, and Mediterranean roots. This pairing perfectly encapsulates the Locus spirit: quality, cross-pollination, and a contemporary outlook.
The Alberobello stop is part of a 2026 program that spans numerous Apulian locationsโfrom Locorotondo, the festival's historic heart, to Bari, Ostuni, Molfetta, Minervino Murge, and the Egnazia Archaeological Parkโfeaturing internationally renowned guests. Attending Locus in Alberobello means experiencing a major concert while discovering one of the most fascinating villages in the Valle d'Itria and the province of Bari.
