Two days of indie and rock music at Parco John Lennon in Castelnuovo Rangone
Limoni Indie Rock Fest is one of the most vibrant realities in the independent music scene in the province of Modena. It takes place in Castelnuovo Rangone, a small municipality in Emilia-Romagna known for its gastronomic vocation, and has chosen Parco John Lennon as its home, a green space that for two July days fills with stages, blankets spread on the grass, and audiences of all ages.
It is organized by the Capanno APS association, described by its founders as "first and foremost a group of friends" created to defend the independent musical culture of the territory and give space to young people. The festival enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Castelnuovo Rangone and concludes as the highlight event of the summer review linked to the park.
The identity of Limoni Fest is clear from its name: original indie rock, alternative proposals, singer-songwriter music, and new bands from the Italian scene. Each edition features emerging groups and established formations, alternating evening live sets with DJ-set after parties that continue until late at night. The atmosphere, as the organizers describe it, is like being "in your own backyard": an informal, participatory, and people-friendly event.
Alongside the concerts, the program includes photo exhibitions, creative workshops, relaxation areas, and contests that make the festival a multidisciplinary event, not just musical. The refreshment area focuses on local flavors, with tigelle, craft beers, and lemon-themed specialties.
The festival has launched LimonCinno – Road to Limoni Fest, a live contest dedicated to emerging bands under 35 from the area: the winners earn the official opening of Limoni Indie Rock Fest, creating a concrete bridge between new musical generations and the main stage.
One of the most recognizable features of Limoni Fest is its charitable vocation: admission is free and part of the proceeds are donated to associations and social causes. Promoting music, culture, and art while raising funds for solidarity has always been the declared mission of the Capanno association, making the festival a reference point for the community of Castelnuovo Rangone and the entire Modenese area.
Limoni Indie Rock Fest 2026 confirms its winning formula: two days of live music, on July 11 and 12, in the green space of Parco John Lennon in Castelnuovo Rangone (MO). Admission is free, and part of the proceeds will be donated to charity, as is the tradition of the Capanno APS association.
The stage will be opened by the emerging bands awarded at the LimonCinno – Road to Limoni Fest contest, which in its first edition saw ten bands under 35 from the area compete. The event thus reaffirms its focus on new musical generations.
The detailed program and the complete lineup for the 2026 edition are being finalized and will be announced by the Capanno APS association in the weeks leading up to the festival, on their official Instagram and Facebook channels.
The usual structure includes two evenings (Friday, July 11, and Saturday, July 12) with:
