The grand masked parade of Limbiate in Piazza Tobagi
When Carnival arrives in Limbiate, in the province of Monza and Brianza, the city center changes its appearance. The Limbiate Carnival is one of the most cherished events by the community: a free popular festival organized by the Municipal Administration that attracts families, children, and costumed groups from all over the Brianza region every year.
The highlight of the day is the masked parade, which starts in the early afternoon and travels through the streets of the center, accompanied by the music of the "Corinna Bruni" Musical Association. The procession concludes in Piazza Walter Tobagi, which for the occasion becomes the festival's headquarters.
In the square, the afternoon is filled with entertainment for children with mascots and characters, ground performances by artists and jugglers, a DJ set that gets everyone dancing, inflatables, stalls, and refreshment points. Every participant is offered a small treat, in the sweet tradition of Carnival.
Among the most anticipated moments is the costume contest, with awards in three categories: the youngest in costume, the most original costume, and the most beautiful group costume. Registration is done directly on-site during the festival, so anyone can participate.
Now in its 41st edition in 2026, the Limbiate Carnival confirms its role as an identity event for the city, capable of uniting different generations in the joyful and slightly irreverent spirit that has always characterized Lombardy's Carnival. Participation is free for everyone.
The Limbiate Carnival 2026 celebrates its 41st edition on Sunday, February 15. The day begins with the masked parade through the streets of the center and then focuses on Piazza Walter Tobagi, where the entertainment continues until late afternoon. In case of bad weather, the festival is postponed to Saturday, February 21.
