The Challenge of the Four Districts

The Palio di Meda is the most heartfelt and defining festival of Meda, a Municipality in the Province of Monza and Brianza. Established in 1977, the Palio pits the city's four historic districts — Belgora, Bregoglio, Fameta, and San Giuann — against each other in a fun-filled challenge that engages generations of Meda residents for entire weeks. The organization is handled by the Associazione Palio di Meda with the support of the Municipality.

Pedal-Powered Machines and Allegorical Floats

The heart of the event is twofold: on one hand, the spectacular pedal-powered machine race, and on the other, the grand parade of allegorical floats. Each district builds its own floats and prepares its choreography, inspired by the theme of the year, which changes with each edition. It's a competition of creativity, ingenuity, and teamwork that keeps the entire city on the edge of its seat.

A Festival Lasting Weeks

The Palio is not just the parade; for days, the districts liven up Meda with games, music, food, and various initiatives. The evenings leading up to the Palio transform into a succession of challenges, convivial moments, and district parties, fueling the friendly rivalry between the neighborhoods and strengthening the sense of belonging.

Almost Half a Century of Tradition

With nearly fifty years of history, the Palio di Meda is now a heritage of the Brianza community. It involves citizens of all ages, from children to the elderly, and represents the time of year when Meda recognizes itself in the colors and traditions of its districts. An event that intertwines games, folklore, and civic pride.
