About Leoniceno Carnival
The Carnival of Lonigo
The Leoniceno Carnival is the traditional Carnival celebration of Lonigo ("leoniceno" is the adjective indicating what belongs to Lonigo), in the heart of the Vicenza area. Organized by Pro Loco Lonigo, it is one of the most beloved events for families in the region, capable of transforming the historic center into a colorful river of confetti, masks, and floats.
The parade of floats
The highlight is the parade of allegorical floats and masked groups, which winds through the streets and squares of the town. The procession is accompanied by a folk band with majorettes, dance groups, and musical entertainment, in a festive atmosphere that engages spectators of all ages.

The 2026 edition of the Leoniceno Carnival, organized by Pro Loco Lonigo, takes place on Sunday, February 8. The gathering is at 1:30 PM in Piazza XXV Aprile, with the floats departing at 2:00 PM for the parade through the historic center.

- From 11:00 AM — opening of the food stand in Piazza Garibaldi (fritters, mulled wine)
- 1:30 PM — gathering in Piazza XXV Aprile
- 2:00 PM — departure of the allegorical floats parade
- Route: Piazza XXV Aprile → Via Dalmazia → Parco Ippodromo → Via Roma → Via Q. Rossi → Vicolo Pisani → arrival in Piazza Garibaldi
- Allegorical floats and masked groups, folk band with majorettes, dance groups, entertainment with Radio Stella FM

How to get there
Lonigo is accessible from the Montebello Vicentino (A4) highway exit and from the SR500. The parade takes place in the historic center.
