The parade of allegorical floats in the historic center of Lonigo
The Leoniceno Carnival is the traditional Carnival celebration of Lonigo ("leoniceno" is the adjective indicating what belongs to Lonigo), in the heart of the Vicenza area. Organized by Pro Loco Lonigo, it is one of the most beloved events for families in the region, capable of transforming the historic center into a colorful river of confetti, masks, and floats.
The highlight is the parade of allegorical floats and masked groups, which winds through the streets and squares of the town. The procession is accompanied by a folk band with majorettes, dance groups, and musical entertainment, in a festive atmosphere that engages spectators of all ages.
The delicious side of Carnival is not missing: in Piazza Garibaldi, the food stand offers the unmissable fritters and mulled wine, sweets, and seasonal specialties. A popular festival that combines spectacle, tradition, and conviviality in the heart of Lonigo.
