Lecco in Acquarello is the exhibition that annually brings the art of watercolour to the evocative Visconti Tower — one of the city's symbolic medieval monuments, located in the heart of the historic centre. Now in its eighth edition in 2026, the event is a well-established fixture for painting enthusiasts in the Larian city and beyond.

The 2026 theme: Il Senso

The 2026 edition centres on the theme "Il Senso" (The Sense), a reflection on the role of artistic creation and traditional techniques in an era dominated by digital media. The exhibition explores the significance of continuing to create using ancient, manual methods, fostering a dialogue with the present and new forms of visual language.

Masters and new generations

The protagonists of the 2026 edition include internationally renowned artists such as Uttam Kumar Karmaker, a watercolourist who has exhibited at the Venice Biennale multiple times, alongside the photographic work of Giuseppe Giudici. Alongside the masters, the works of students from Lecco's graphic schools — CFP Consolida, IIS Medardo Rosso, and ISGMD Lecco — are showcased, stemming from an educational project that connects the exhibition to the region's educational landscape.
