Distillation, market and trofie festival in the village of Pigna
In Pigna, a perched village in the Nervia Valley in the province of Imperia, the Lavender Festival celebrates one of the historic crops of the western Ligurian hinterland. The day opens in the morning with distillation demonstrations of lavender and a craft market, an opportunity to discover essential oils and local products.
In the evening, the festival moves to the sports field, where the trofie al pesto festival takes place, accompanied by music and entertainment. The formula combines the promotion of agricultural products with the conviviality of a village festival, attracting visitors from all over the valley.
Pigna, with its tower houses and medieval alleys, is one of the most characteristic centers of the Regional Natural Park of the Ligurian Alps. The Lavender Festival is part of the rich summer calendar of the Imperia hinterland, often in dialogue with events in nearby hamlets such as Buggio.
For 2026, the Pigna Lavender Festival is expected on August 11. The day includes, from the morning, lavender distillation demonstrations and a craft market; in the evening, the festival continues at the sports field with a trofie al pesto festival, music, and entertainment. Detailed timetable will be announced by the Municipality of Pigna closer to the event.
