The summer night that paints the historic center of Laterza blue with art, music, and ceramics
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The White and Blue Night is one of the most anticipated summer evenings in Laterza, located in the heart of the Terra delle Gravine, in the province of Taranto (Apulia). Born from the evolution of the previous "Colorful White Night" festival, the event has chosen blue as its guiding color: a shade that evokes the night sky but, above all, the great tradition of Laterza majolica, the ceramic art that made the village famous between the 17th and 18th centuries.
For one night, the historic center of Laterza lights up and takes on a new look. The town's iconic landmarks become the event's sprawling stage: Palazzo Marchesale, Piazza Plebiscito, and Piazza Vico Balbo host installations, lights, and performances, while the alleys fill with visitors, locals, and tourists. The formula is that of a "white night": a program that unfolds from the evening until late at night, with simultaneous events in multiple locations.
The artistic direction, curated by the Onlife Association, offers a deliberately multidisciplinary program. The public can move from immersive artistic projections to aerial dance, from live music to live painting, and even street performances and art installations scattered throughout the squares. It is a blend of languages that brings local artists and professional companies together in a spirit of shared celebration.
The beating heart of the evening is majolica. During the White and Blue Night, it is possible to participate in special visits to the MUMA - Majolica Museum and ceramic decoration workshops, which introduce adults and children to the ancient local pottery art. This is the event's chosen way to share, in a contemporary key, a heritage that belongs to the history of the Municipality of Laterza and all of Apulia.
Admission is free: the White and Blue Night is designed as a festival open to families, young people, and passing visitors, integrated into the rich summer calendar of Laterza alongside other events in the Terra delle Gravine. It is an evening that combines culture, entertainment, and conviviality under the stars of the historic center.
The Laterza White and Blue Night returns for the summer of 2026, but at the moment official dates have not yet been communicated. Based on previous editions, the event is traditionally held in August and brings the historic center of the Municipality of Laterza (Taranto) to life with art, music, dance, and openings of the MUMA - Majolica Museum.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published by the Onlife Association in the weeks leading up to the event. This page will be updated as soon as the date and line-up are announced.
