With "E'state a Bernalda e Metaponto", the Municipality of Bernalda, in the Province of Matera, brings together under a single direction the dense calendar of events that from the beginning of summer accompanies residents and tourists until September. A widespread program that links the historic center of Bernalda to the seaside resort of Metaponto, one of the most popular seaside towns on the Lucanian Ionian coast.
What to Expect
The festival blends different genres and audiences: concerts of light and live music, theatrical performances, sporting events, moments dedicated to children and popular traditions. Among the recurring events, the following stand out:
- Gusto Italia in Tour, the traveling fair of food and wine specialties and crafts, hosted on the Metaponto seafront;
- Metaponto Beach Festival, the big summer music festival held near the Castello di Torremare;
- StraBernalda, the running and entertainment event that runs along Corso Umberto;
- the food festivals that promote local typical products.
The Climax: The Patronal Feast
The summer program culminates with the celebrations in honor of San Bernardino da Siena, patron saint of Bernalda, which in the second half of August transform the town into a great meeting point between faith, music, and entertainment.

For the summer of 2026, the Municipality of Bernalda will again present the widespread program "E'state a Bernalda e Metaponto", running from July to September between the historic center and the Metaponto seaside resort. The events that characterize the festival are confirmed: concerts, theatre, sports, food festivals, and the major events of Gusto Italia and the Metaponto Beach Festival, culminating in the patronal celebrations of San Bernardino in the second half of August.
The dates and artists for the 2026 program will be announced by the Municipality in the weeks before the season begins.
