About LacMus Festival

For two weeks in July, the most evocative villas and locations on Lake Como become open-air concert halls. The LacMus Festival, founded by pianist Louis Lortie and conductor Paolo Bressan, brings great international classical music performers to Tremezzina and its surroundings, amidst gardens, sanctuaries, and residences overlooking the lake. Sunrise concerts with yoga, world premieres, and world-renowned guests make LacMus a unique event on the Italian music scene.

Great Music in the Villas of Lake Como

The LacMus Festival is an international classical music festival held in Tremezzina and some of the most enchanting locations on Lake Como, in the Province of Como. Founded by Canadian pianist Louis Lortie and conductor Paolo Bressan, the festival has successfully combined the great concert tradition with the beauty of the Larian landscape, transforming villas and sanctuaries into exceptional stages.

Dreamlike Venues

Concerts take place in extraordinarily charming locations: Villa del Balbianello, Villa Carlotta, the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Sorrow (in Ossuccio, a UNESCO heritage site), Comacina Island, as well as historic residences like Castello Durini. Each concert thus becomes an experience that intertwines music, art, and nature in an unrepeatable setting.

World-Renowned Performers

Over the years, the festival has hosted some of the biggest names on the international scene, from Ton Koopman to Emmanuel Pahud, from Richard Galliano to Christiane Karg. Alongside major performers, LacMus provides space for young talents and offers innovative formats: sunrise concerts accompanied by yoga and breakfast, performances with wi-fi headphones, and the LacMus Educational project.

A Festival That Enhances the Territory

LacMus is much more than a concert series: it is a cultural project that enhances the historical and landscape heritage of Tremezzina and Lake Como, bringing international audiences to often little-accessible places and restoring a dimension of discovery and wonder to classical music.
