Ladin folk music from Val di Fassa in support of charity
La Conties de la Musega is a celebration of Ladin folk music held in Val di Fassa, in the heart of the Trentino Dolomites. The name, in the Ladin language, means «tales of music»: more than just a concert, the event is designed as an evening capable of stirring up memories, emotions, and fragments of life through traditional melodies. The motto accompanying the initiative, «Se te ès sconet n recort, la cianzons les lo troa» («If you have hidden a memory, the songs will find it»), perfectly summarizes this deep bond between music and identity.
The stars of the evening are the musicians of the Folk Laboratory of the Il Pentagramma Music School of Fiemme and Fassa, conducted by Professor Daniele Girardi. The repertoire features original arrangements and reinterpretations of pieces tied to Ladin culture, with the aim of promoting the region's popular musical heritage and reviving sounds that speak of villages, families, valley festivals, and stories passed down through time.
La Conties de la Musega is not just a cultural event; it was also born with a charitable purpose. The event is held in collaboration with the Rencureme association, which supports sick individuals and their families, and the donations collected during the concert are donated to third-sector organizations active in the Trentino area. Admission is free: attendees are welcome to contribute to the cause.
The concert takes place at the Gran Ciasa in Soraga di Fassa, a small town in Val di Fassa in the province of Trento, in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. Soraga is the first village you encounter when traveling up the valley from Moena, offering a splendid view of the Catinaccio group. In this alpine and Ladin setting, folk music becomes the thread that connects community, memory, and landscape.
Now in its third edition, La Conties de la Musega has established itself as a recurring spring event in the Fassa valley, moving from year to year between the different villages of the valley. It is a precious opportunity to rediscover the Ladin language and culture through song and music, in an intimate and engaging atmosphere open to families, the elderly, youth, and children.
