A human rights festival in the heart of Trastevere

La Città di Tutti - Theatre for Human Rights is the festival that transforms Rome's Teatro Trastevere into a hub for civil theatre and cultural engagement every autumn. Hosted in the historic venue on Via Jacopa de' Settesoli, in the Trastevere district, the event is conceived and promoted by Compagnia Walden in collaboration with the Teatro Trastevere Cultural Association, with the contribution of the Capitoline Assembly of the Municipality of Rome.

Born with the goal of using artistic language as a tool for dialogue and education, the festival addresses major civil themes each year: inclusion, human rights, and the culture of peace. The stage thus becomes a place for shared reflection, where words and theatrical gestures speak to the entire community.

Theatre, poetry, comedy, and music

The festival's program is intentionally multidisciplinary, weaving together various forms of live performance:

• Theatrical performances focused on civil memory and social commitment;
• Poetry slams and poetry readings dedicated to peace;
• Stand-up comedy and comedic theatre that address human rights themes with a light touch;

Theatrical guided tours

Alongside the indoor programming, La Città di Tutti offers theatrical guided tours at Rome's iconic landmarks, created in collaboration with expert guides and actors. These narrated walks through the memory of the Roman Republic, the history of the Jewish Ghetto, and the pages of the city's Resistance movement guide the public on a journey that blends art, history, and active citizenship.
