La Biciclissima: youth cycling in the heart of Broccostella
La Biciclissima is the summer event dedicated to youth cycling that transforms the center of Broccostella, a small town in the Ciociaria area of the Frosinone province, into a lively race circuit. Launched in 2024 by the Pro Loco APS of Broccostella, the event brings the Giovanissimi category—the youngest members of the Italian Cycling Federation—to the town streets for an afternoon of sprints, applause, and healthy competition.
A town circuit to experience
The course is laid out along the town's streets, with a long final straightaway that often leads to hard-fought finishes decided by a sprint. The roads are closed to traffic for the duration of the event, allowing young riders to compete safely under the watchful eyes of families, coaches, and fans. Each edition draws dozens of athletes from Lazio, Campania, and Abruzzo, accompanied by their respective sports clubs.

La Biciclissima effectively kicks off the town's summer season, as it is included in the extensive «Estate a Broccostella» program promoted by the Municipality in collaboration with the Pro Loco and local associations. In the following weeks, the calendar continues with the Sports Festival, the Neighborhood Soccer Tournament, band concerts, and food festivals, celebrating the community and the traditions of the Ciociaria region.
An event for youth and families
More than just a race, La Biciclissima is a community festival designed to introduce children to sports and cycling. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is typical of local community events, featuring team awards, recognition for the largest squads, and cheering crowds along the track. It is an afternoon dedicated to fun, clean sport, and social connection in the heart of southern Lazio.

The third edition of La Biciclissima was held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, in the town center of Broccostella, starting at 2:00 PM. The cycling race reserved for the Giovanissimi category was organized by the Pro Loco APS of Broccostella as part of the "Estate a Broccostella 2026" program, with the support of the Municipality. As is tradition, the town streets were closed to traffic to safely welcome the young riders.

How to get there
Broccostella is located in the province of Frosinone, in southern Lazio. By car, it can be reached via the A1 motorway (Frosinone exit), continuing towards Sora along the Sora–Frosinone expressway. The nearest train station is in Sora, on the Roccasecca–Avezzano line.
Time and location
La Biciclissima takes place in the town center starting at 2:00 PM. The streets involved in the circuit are closed to traffic for the entire duration of the races.
