Magic of events to experience together at Christmas in San Giustino
L'Isola di Natale — 'Magic of events to experience together' — is the festive programme for San Giustino, in the province of Perugia, in the heart of the Upper Tiber Valley. From December 8th to January 6th, the municipality and its hamlets come alive with initiatives designed to promote local traditions linked to the Christmas period and to experience a Christmas together that is, as the organisers say, 'kind and harmonious'.
The town centre and the hamlets dress up for the holidays with artistic illuminations along the streets and trees decorated by nursery schools in the main squares. Castello Bufalini, one of the architectural gems of the area, hosts Christmas markets and an exhibition of nativity scenes created by primary schools. Numerous events take place at the Cinema Teatro Astra, described as a fundamental artistic hub of the municipality.
Among the most cherished events are the living nativity scene set up in the hamlet of Celalba and the processions of the Magi that animate the area during the holidays. The programme involves local schools, associations, and businesses, confirming San Giustino as one of the most vibrant Christmas destinations in the Umbrian Valtiberina. The complete schedule is published on the official channels of the Municipality.
The 2026 edition of L'Isola di Natale will again feature the widespread programme that characterises Christmas in San Giustino: artistic illuminations in the streets, trees decorated by nursery schools in the main squares, Christmas markets and nativity scene exhibition at Castello Bufalini, shows at the Cinema Teatro Astra, and the living nativity scene in the hamlet of Celalba, with processions of the Magi. The detailed programme, with dates and times for individual events, will be published by the Municipality and on the event's Facebook page in the weeks preceding.
