About L'Arte a Collepardo

L'Arte a Collepardo is a cultural festival that brings the village of Collepardo to life in the heart of the Frosinone province, Ciociaria. Featuring sacred and classical music concerts, theatrical performances, and local dialect comedies, the event showcases art in the village's most evocative settings, from the Chiesa della Consolazione to the monumental Certosa di Trisulti. This free-admission event weaves together tradition, spirituality, and the artistic talent of the Lazio region.

An art festival in the village of herbs and caves

L'Arte a Collepardo is a cultural festival that transforms the small village of Collepardo into a widespread stage every year. Nestled in the Ernici Mountains, within the Ciociaria regionโ€”the historic heart of the Frosinone province in Lazioโ€”Collepardo is known as the "village of herbs and caves." Its maze of alleys, small squares, and hillside views provides a natural backdrop for concerts and performances.

Sacred music, classical music, and live performance

The festival's common thread is the encounter between music and spirituality. Throughout its editions, the festival has featured sacred and baroque music concerts, including masterpieces such as Pergolesi's Stabat Mater and Vivaldi's Gloria, alongside performances by local choirs, bands, and wind orchestras. The musical dimension is complemented by theatre and dialect comedy, which celebrate the memory and identity of the local community.

The festival venues

One of the most fascinating aspects of L'Arte a Collepardo is the choice of venues, which highlight the artistic and religious heritage of the village and its surroundings:

  • Chiesa della Consolazione, in the town centre at Piazza Luigi Liberatori;
  • the monumental Certosa di Trisulti, a stunning monastic complex nestled in the Ernici woods;
  • the Sala La Rocca and the Municipal Auditorium, spaces dedicated to theatrical performances.

A free-admission event

The festival, promoted by the Municipality of Collepardo with the involvement of local associations and artistic groups, is distinguished by its grassroots spirit: all events are free to attend. It is a way to make art accessible to everyone and to enliven the cultural life of a small town in the Lazio hinterland, often far from major tourist circuits.

Collepardo and Ciociaria

Experiencing L'Arte a Collepardo also means discovering an authentic corner of the Frosinone province. The famous Collepardo Caves, the evocative Pozzo d'Antullo, the trails of the Ernici Mountains, and the Certosa di Trisulti itself make this village an ideal destination for those seeking culture, nature, and tradition away from mass tourism.
