Electronic music on the slopes of Plan de Corones
The Kronplatz Ski & Music Festival — DJ Edition is one of the most original winter events in South Tyrol. Every year in February, the Plan de Corones (Kronplatz) ski area—the iconic mountain overlooking the town of Brunico (Bruneck) in the Province of Bolzano—transforms into a vast open-air stage where electronic music meets skiing and the festive atmosphere of the Dolomites.
The formula is as simple as it is exhilarating: for four days, the mountain huts and lodges in the ski area, as well as several spots directly on the slopes, host dozens of DJs who accompany skiers from morning until mid-afternoon. You can ski with music in your ears, stop for an aperitif at altitude, and dance in the sun between runs. It is a different way to experience a day on the slopes, where the fun doesn't end with the last turn.
The lineup brings together Italian and international artists, with a strong presence of talent from South Tyrol, Germany, and Spain. The program ranges from elegant house and electronic sounds to winter party rhythms, all designed for the unique mountain setting. Each edition features a fresh cast of selectors spread across various musical points throughout the resort.
The DJ Edition is the first of two pillars of the Kronplatz Ski & Music Festival. A few weeks later, also on Plan de Corones, the Band Edition takes place, featuring live concerts by bands performing in the huts along the slopes. Together, these two weekends make Kronplatz one of the capitals of snow-based music in the Alps.
One of the event's highlights is that the concerts are free: all DJ sets are open to the public. To reach the spots on the slopes, you simply need a standard daily ski pass for the Kronplatz area, with no additional tickets required. The festival is organized by Skirama Kronplatz, the company that manages the mountain's lift facilities.
With its sunny trails and 360-degree views of the UNESCO-listed Dolomites, Plan de Corones offers a spectacular backdrop. Brunico, the main town of the Puster Valley, and the nearby villages of Valdaora, San Vigilio di Marebbe, and Riscone serve as the perfect base to enjoy the festival, complete with slopes, traditional mountain huts, and South Tyrolean culinary specialties.
From February 19 to 22, 2026, Plan de Corones hosted the DJ Edition of the Kronplatz Ski & Music Festival. On stage, spread across mountain huts and locations along the slopes, were over twenty DJs from Italy, Germany, and Spain, including Andrea Viani, Biroo, Eterea, Francesco Aprili, Michele Preda, Nils Ohrmann, and numerous South Tyrolean selectors.
As per tradition, the sets were free to enter: all that was needed to attend was a daily ski pass for the Kronplatz area. The event confirmed the successful formula that combines skiing and electronic music in one of the most spectacular locations in South Tyrol.
The Plan de Corones ski area is accessible from the Brunico/Riscone, Valdaora, and San Vigilio di Marebbe sides. By train: Brunico station on the Puster Valley line, then a shuttle bus to the cable cars. By car: take the Bressanone exit (A22) from the motorway and follow the Puster Valley state road.
All DJ sets are free. To access the slopes where the performances take place, a daily ski pass for the Kronplatz area is required. Information and rates are available on the official website kronplatz.com.
Ski gear and technical clothing are recommended for the outdoor locations. Book your accommodation in the Puster Valley well in advance during the festival period.
