The traditional village festival of Nasen, organized by the Perca Volunteer Fire Department
The Kirchtag in Nasen is the traditional village festival of Nasen, located in the municipality of Percha, in the Puster Valley, in the heart of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano (South Tyrol). In South Tyrol, the term Kirchtag refers to a traditional village feast—a moment for the entire community to gather, celebrating with music, great food, and a strong sense of belonging.
The event is organized by the Perca Volunteer Fire Department (Freiwillige Feuerwehr Percha). As is tradition in South Tyrolean towns, volunteer associations are the driving force behind local social life. Proceeds from the festival support the activities of the volunteer firefighters, who serve as the beating heart of the Nasen and Percha community.
The Kirchtag in Nasen takes place at the Nasner Festplatz, the local festival grounds, and spans two days of conviviality:
Live music is an essential element of every South Tyrolean Kirchtag, with bands and ensembles playing traditional Tyrolean folk music to create the festive, lighthearted atmosphere that defines these village gatherings.
As with every Kirchtag in the Puster Valley, the food is a highlight: grilled meats, hot traditional South Tyrolean farmhouse dishes, desserts, and fresh beer are served under the festival tent. The event offers an authentic opportunity to experience South Tyrolean culture away from the major tourist circuits, in a genuine, community-focused setting where the entire hamlet of Nasen comes together to welcome visitors.
The Kirchtag in Nasen is a free event open to everyone, making it perfect for families and visitors eager to discover the folk traditions of South Tyrol. Percha, located along the Puster Valley just a few kilometers from Bruneck, is easily accessible and serves as an excellent starting point for exploring the Kronplatz (Plan de Corones) and the surrounding Dolomites.
