The Bavarian beer festival of Campagnola Emilia
The Kampagnola Bavarian Beer Fest is the spring event that brings the atmosphere of Oktoberfest to Campagnola Emilia, a small municipality in the Province of Reggio Emilia located in the Bassa reggiana area, in Emilia-Romagna. Every year, in May, the Sala 2000 in Via Anna Magnani is decorated in Bavarian style and welcomes thousands of visitors for four evenings of beer, food, and live music.
The event takes place over four evenings spread across two weekends. The heart of the festival is the large Biergarten, where beer flows on tap, alongside a covered restaurant offering specialties of German and Bavarian cuisine. Every evening, after dinner, the stage comes alive with concerts and live shows that animate the dance floor.
The menu is a tribute to the gastronomic tradition of Bavaria, with some Emilian touches. Among the dishes offered:
To wash it all down, a rich selection of beers including seasonal specialties like Mönchshof Maibock, as well as options like spritz and Gin Radler for those seeking an alternative.
Each evening features its own concert: bands and cover bands alternate on stage, offering a repertoire ranging from the hits of the seventies to today's chart-toppers, with costume changes and surprises designed to get everyone dancing. Entry to the Biergarten is free, while dinner at the restaurant requires reservation, and tables often sell out on peak days.
Over the years, it has become one of the most beloved local festivals in the area, the Kampagnola Bavarian Beer Fest combines a passion for beer with the typical conviviality of the Bassa region, attracting a young audience and families from all over the Reggio Emilia area. It's the perfect opportunity to experience the spirit of Oktoberfest without leaving Emilia-Romagna.
