Japan in the heart of the EUR district, featuring a market, street food, and traditional arts
Japan Days in Town is the city version of the capital's most beloved Japanese culture festival, hosted in the indoor spaces of Atlantico Live, the historic venue in Rome's EUR district. Born from the legacy of the Mercatino Giapponese (Japanese Market) that has enlivened the city since 2007, the event transforms the Viale dell'Oceano Atlantico venue into a small fragment of Japan for an entire weekend, with multiple dates throughout the year to satisfy the vast community of enthusiasts in the Lazio region.
The heart of the event is the large market, featuring exhibitors from all over Italy: kimono and yukata, bonsai, ceramics, handicrafts, pop and kawaii gadgets, manga, and collectibles. Surrounding the market are various thematic areas that showcase Japan in all its nuances, from the ancient and ceremonial to the contemporary world of manga, anime, and video games.
Thanks to the affordable entry fee and the wide range of activities, Japan Days in Town is designed just as much for otaku and connoisseurs of Japanese traditions as it is for families with children and the curious. Its location in the EUR district, well-served by public transport and equipped with parking, makes it one of the most accessible Japanese cultural events in Rome and the entire Lazio region.
The 2026 edition of Japan Days in Town was divided into two stages at Atlantico Live in Rome: the first on February 28 and March 1, the second on April 25 and 26. In both cases, doors were open from 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with a rich program of culture, gastronomy, and entertainment dedicated to the Land of the Rising Sun.
