The international half marathon through the villages and the historic center of Pordenone
Established in 2006, the International Half Marathon of the Villages City of Pordenone has grown rapidly to become an event of international renown, attracting some of the best African middle-distance runners to Friuli, alongside hundreds of amateur runners. A 21.097-kilometer FIDAL-certified half marathon that animates the city's historic center every year at the end of September.
The charm of the race lies in its course: starting from the heart of the city, the route winds through the ancient arcades and frescoed palaces of the center, passes through the villages of Rorai and Torre, skirts the Seminario park, and concludes with a 500-meter final straight leading athletes to the finish line in Piazza XX Settembre, the main square of Pordenone.
Organized by the ASD Equipe association, the Half Marathon is more than just a competitive race; it's a popular festival that involves entire neighborhoods, with spectators cheering on the runners along the streets and in the districts. Alongside the competitive race, there are also non-competitive distances designed for those who want to experience the event's atmosphere without the pressure of the clock.
Under the patronage of the Municipality of Pordenone, the event showcases the city's urban heritage, transforming streets and squares into an open-air stage. It's an original way to discover the city's villages while running, or simply to cheer along the route.
