The Celtic festival of Insubria in the park of Villa Ghiotti
The Insubria Festival is the festival that celebrates the Celtic and Insubrian heritage of the plain between the Ticino and Olona rivers. Promoted by the Associazione Culturale Terra Insubre and Teuta Briva, with the patronage of the Municipality of Marcallo con Casone (Province of Milan), it is now in its 22nd edition, confirming itself as one of the main events of its kind in Northern Italy.
The heart of the festival is folk and rock music of Celtic origin, with live concerts by Italian and international bands. Alongside the concerts, a Celtic historical re-enactment – the "Catumara – Magna Pugna", the Battle of Ticino – brings to life warriors and camps of ancient Insubria, in a captivating blend of entertainment and education.
The program includes an artisan market, numerous workshops (Celtic harp, archery, weaving, coin minting, dances), conferences, and a large food area. A proposal designed to engage the whole family, combining cultural enrichment and fun. Concerts are held under a covered tensile structure, guaranteed even in case of rain.
The Insubria Festival takes place in the Park of Villa Ghiotti, coinciding with the patronal feast of San Marco. For Marcallo con Casone, a municipality in the Alto Milanese region, it is an occasion for a major event of supra-municipal appeal, capable of uniting local identity, Celtic culture, and social interaction.
The 22nd edition of the Insubria Festival enlivens Marcallo con Casone from April 24 to 26, 2026, in the Park of Villa Ghiotti. Promoted by Terra Insubre and Teuta Briva, the festival celebrates the Celtic roots of the territory with music, re-enactments, and culture.
