The short film and new cinema festival in Pesaro
The Incanto Film Festival is the cinematic event that animates the center of Pesaro, in the Marche region, every autumn, focusing on short films and the emerging voices of Italian and international cinema. Conceived in 2023 by Rebecca Maria Cervato and Matteo Damiani with the association Anemone Film, and supported by the Municipality of Pesaro, the festival has rapidly established itself as a reference point for young authors under 35 and for those who love cinema that experiments with new languages.
The heart of the festival is the short film competition, divided into several categories ranging from international works to a section entirely dedicated to the Marche Region, up to a space reserved for the first works of younger directors. The screenings are accompanied by meetings with authors, masterclasses, and workshops, fostering direct dialogue between filmmakers and the audience, who are also invited to be part of the popular jury.
The days take place in some of the city's most representative locations: the Teatro Sperimentale, the pulsating heart of the competition screenings, the Cinema Solaris, and other cultural spaces in the historic center of Pesaro. The choice of intimate and welcoming venues reinforces the festival's intimate character, where directors, actors, and spectators share the same space.
One of the peculiarities of the Incanto Film Festival is the presence of high-profile juries, composed of renowned directors, actors, screenwriters, editors, and directors of photography. Alongside the competition, the festival promotes awards dedicated to the development of new projects, such as the Premio Condor for writing feature film subjects, and social awareness initiatives.
The event is part of Pesaro's rich cinematic tradition, a city in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino already known for its historic International Festival of New Cinema. The Incanto Film Festival renews this vocation by looking to the younger generations, with a program that always offers free admission and is open to all citizens.
The new edition of the Incanto Film Festival returns to Pesaro in autumn 2026, confirming the formula that has made the festival an anticipated event for lovers of short films and emerging cinema. The organization, curated by Anemone Film, has opened submissions for works through the FilmFreeway platform, welcoming short films of all genres produced after January 1, 2024.
This edition will also maintain its structure with multiple competition sections, meetings with authors, and free admission to all screenings. The detailed program, featuring the selected titles, jury members, and screening times at the Teatro Sperimentale, will be published on the official website and social media channels in the weeks leading up to the event.
