Theatre continues under the stars

Il Mercoledì Spettacolare is the review with which Cascina Cuccagna (via Cuccagna 2/4, Calvairate-Romana district, Municipality 4, City of Milan, Lombardy) extends the theatre season into June, after the end of the FringeMI Festival. For three consecutive Wednesday evenings, the courtyard of the 18th-century farmhouse becomes an open-air stage dedicated to the performing arts.

Theatre, music, and words

The programme intertwines theatre performances, music, stand-up, performance poetry, and live encounters. A particularly anticipated event is the regional final of the LIPS Lombardia Poetry Slam, which brings the best performance poets of the region to Cuccagna for a verse-by-verse challenge. The review maintains the experimental and accessible approach that characterises the farmhouse's programming.

A farmhouse that builds community

Organised by the Associazione Consorzio Cantiere Cuccagna (ACCC), the review is designed as an opportunity for the neighbourhood and the city to meet. Admission is free with the Cuccagna membership card, following the associative formula that animates this vibrant cultural hub in Milan, capable of uniting theatre, culture, and local social interaction.

From FringeMI to Il Mercoledì Spettacolare

Il Mercoledì Spettacolare was born as a natural extension of the FringeMI Festival, of which Cascina Cuccagna is one of the historic venues in the Calvairate-Romana district. When the large, widespread performing arts festival concludes, the farmhouse doesn't turn off the lights but continues to put on shows, offering the public three more evenings of theatre and words. It's a way to provide continuity to a cultural season that, from late May to late June, makes Cuccagna one of the centres of Milanese independent theatre, in constant dialogue with the Municipality 4 area.
