A month of free events at the Martesana Amphitheatre
The NaMa Summer Festival is the major summer event that enlivens the Martesana Amphitheatre, in the Martyrs of Liberty Iraqi Victims of Terrorism Park, along the Martesana Canal in Milan. For a whole month, from mid-June to mid-July, the space transforms into a widespread and free festival encompassing music, cinema, theatre, culture, and wellness, in the heart of Municipality 2, between the Gorla, Turro, and Crescenzago neighborhoods.
What was once a summer arena has grown into a truly widespread festival, capable of engaging multiple areas of the park with different languages and content. The festival is divided into thematic areas: the main amphitheatre for central performances, the green area dedicated to cinema, talks, debates, sports, and wellness, the workshop and laboratory area open to all ages, the internal NAMA space for evening initiatives, and the Hidden Garden, with cultural experiences and local activities.
NaMa's strength lies in its community roots. Organized by the association NAMA โ Nuovo Anfiteatro Martesana with the contribution of Municipality 2 of the City of Milan, the festival was supported by a civic crowdfunding campaign that gathered the participation of hundreds of donors. A participatory model that makes this space a cultural and social hub for the northeast of the city.
The NaMa program is completely free and designed for a wide audience: concerts, open-air film screenings, theatre performances, exhibitions, talks, and sports activities follow one another throughout the event. An offering that makes accessibility and participation its distinctive feature.
For those looking for a different Milanese summer, outside the major circuits, NaMa is a discovery: a park along the Martesana that lights up every evening with culture and sociality, with free events for all ages and the authentic atmosphere of a community coming together.
The second edition of the NaMa Summer Festival takes place from June 12 to July 12, 2026, at the Martesana Amphitheatre, in the Martyrs of Liberty Iraqi Park in Milan. A whole month of free outdoor programming, with the festival growing and transforming into an increasingly widespread event, organized into thematic areas. Supported by Municipality 2 and a civic crowdfunding campaign with 960 donors, it confirms its participatory and community-driven vocation.
A month of free events organized in thematic areas spread throughout the park:
