The Homage to Ornella Vanoni is an evening concert that brings the music of one of the most important voices of Italian song to Brezzo di Bedero, a small municipality in the Province of Varese overlooking Lake Maggiore. The event is held at Casa Paolo, in Via Baumgartner, and is part of the cultural project Nuovi Orizzonti Sonori, supported by the Municipality of Brezzo di Bedero and the Fondazione Comunitaria del Varesotto.

A journey through the career of a great performer

The concert is not a simple review of songs, but a true journey through Ornella Vanoni's different artistic phases. It starts with the famous 'mala' songs, linked to the theatrical world and figures like Dario Fo and Enzo Jannacci, leading up to the 1976 Brazilian project with Toquinho and Vinicius De Moraes. There are also incursions into jazz and the avant-garde, from the "Argilla" project with Paolo Fresu to tango and klezmer suggestions.

The performers

The singer Francesca Galante gives voice to this homage, accompanied by Ciro Radice on piano, accordion, and synth, and by Enrico Salvato on piano. A trio that intertwines auteur music, theatre, and jazz, reflecting the complexity and elegance of Vanoni's repertoire.

The initiative is part of a network of events that bring cultured music and auteur songs to the small towns of the Varese area, enhancing intimate venues like Casa Paolo. A way to experience culture in an intimate and local way, with free admission and in a suggestive setting just a stone's throw from the lake.
