A ride that funds research

Healiade is much more than just a bike ride: it is a charity cycling tour that has been a highlight of Golden September—the month dedicated to childhood cancer awareness—since 2020. Organized by the HEAL Foundation, the event raises funds to support scientific research in pediatric neuro-oncology and complex pathologies. The Bracciano stage, located in the province of Rome and the heart of the Lazio region, has become a fixed and highly popular fixture on the calendar.

The route around the lake

The formula is simple and engaging: the group sets off from Lungolago Argenti and cycles along the shores of Lake Bracciano, one of the most picturesque volcanic lakes in Lazio. The route, almost entirely on asphalt with a few gentle undulations, passes through the villages overlooking the lake, from Anguillara Sabazia to Trevignano Romano, before returning to Bracciano. It is a non-competitive cycle-touring event, designed to be accessible to anyone willing to get in the saddle for a good cause.

More than just a sport

Healiade is, above all, a community celebration. Upon arrival at Piazza IV Novembre, participants are welcomed with a collective lunch prepared by local associations, primarily the Rione Monti of Bracciano, which has been the heart of the village's social life since 1966. The day is enriched with entertainment for children, performances, and opportunities to connect in an atmosphere of joy and solidarity.

If you don't cycle, donate a kilometer

The event's motto is clear: everyone can participate. Those who do not wish to cycle can still support the cause by donating "1 KM to research," ideally contributing to the total distance. Every euro raised goes toward funding the projects of the HEAL Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting families of children affected by brain tumors.
