Independent music, records, and crafts in the Bassa Reggiana
The Handmade Festival is a showcase of independent music and crafts held in Guastalla, in the province of Reggio Emilia, in the heart of the Emilian Po Valley. Founded in 2007, it has become over the years a reference point for the Italian alternative and experimental scene, capable of attracting audiences and artists from all over Italy and abroad to a small town in the Emilian countryside. The formula is encapsulated in the name itself: everything is "handmade," from the music selection to the cuisine, from the record market to creative crafts.
The festival unfolds on three main stages, featuring alternating national and international bands and DJ sets, from early afternoon until late at night. The musical offering is deliberately diverse and cutting-edge: rock, electronic, experimental, world music, singer-songwriter, and hard-to-label sounds coexist in a curated program, far from the logic of large commercial festivals. The setting is the Tagliata di Guastalla, on Via Bonazza, a green space in the countryside that the organizers like to describe as halfway between Austin, Berlin, and the Emilian plain.
In addition to music, the Handmade Festival offers a market for creative crafts and vinyl records, spaces dedicated to vintage, and a rich gastronomic offer. The bars and kitchens offer typical local products from the Emilia region, from traditional dishes to grilled meats, as well as desserts and cocktails. It is an experience that combines listening, discovery, and conviviality, in a relaxed and familiar atmosphere.
One of the most distinctive features of the festival is the completely free admission: a choice that makes it an open and accessible event, rare for a festival capable of hosting artists of international renown. For the city of Guastalla and for all of Emilia-Romagna, the Handmade Festival is an occasion for encounter between independent culture, territory, and community, which every year transforms the Bassa Reggiana into the Italian capital of handmade music.
The 2026 edition of the Handmade Festival takes place in Guastalla, in the province of Reggio Emilia, on Saturday, June 13th and Sunday, June 14th, at the Tagliata on Via Bonazza. The established formula is confirmed: three stages, concerts and DJ sets from afternoon until late evening, a market for records and crafts, cuisine with typical Emilian products, and completely free admission.
The 2026 lineup is rich and varied, featuring Italian and international artists of avant-garde music, for a weekend that once again transforms the Bassa Reggiana into a meeting point for the independent scene.
Concerts and DJ sets alternate on three main stages, with the "Circus in the Field" area also featured. The detailed daily schedule is communicated by the organizers on the festival's official channels.
Among the announced artists for this edition are: Hilary Woods, Alabaster DePlume, Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp, ZU, Alpha Maid, Fine Before You Came, Krano, Orchestra Spettacolo Fera Lolo, Julinko, Emma Grace, Container, Ida, Ossia, DJ Rocca, Phil Mison, So Beast, Mai Mai Mai presents 'Karakoz', Siksa, Visione Notturna, Obso, Gentilesky, Dub Hunters, Verdo, Fortunato Durutti Marinetti, Calm, Ciro Vitiello, Tolouse Low Trax, Margo Sanda, Marion Raw, Ondakeiki, Bob Junior, Moire, A Nice Noise, Nailbreaker, Gee Whiz, Diana Delta, and Planet Wax.
The festival takes place at the Tagliata di Guastalla, in Via Bonazza 55, in Guastalla (RE). By car, Guastalla is accessible from the A22 Brenner motorway (Reggiolo-Rolo exit) or the A1 motorway (Reggio Emilia exit), continuing along the Bassa Reggiana plain. The reference train station is Guastalla, on the Parma-Suzzara line.
Admission is completely free. Music runs from early afternoon until late at night, with concerts and DJ sets on three stages over the two days of the festival.
There are bars, food stalls with typical local products, and a market for records and crafts. Comfortable clothing is recommended, as it is an outdoor area in the countryside.
