Jazz and fine dining in the historic center of Corato
The GustoJazz Festival is the summer event that brings the historic center of Corato, a city in the Metropolitan City of Bari, Puglia, to life every year. Born from the idea of combining great jazz music with the region's rich food and wine culture, the festival is organized by the Art Promotion Cultural Association under the artistic direction of Alberto La Monica and is supported by the Municipality of Corato.
The GustoJazz formula is now iconic: every evening, the squares of the old town—from Piazza Sedile to Piazza Abbazia, from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele to Piazza Marconi—transform into open-air stages. Concerts range from classic jazz to electronic, soul, and Mediterranean or African influences, while the "Jazz Aperitifs," hosted in collaboration with local bars, pizzerias, and restaurants, treat the audience to tastings of typical Apulian products.
Alongside the concerts, the program includes cooking shows, meetings, and talks dedicated to promoting the region, such as those on olive oil tourism, one of the signature products of the Corato countryside. Over the years, the festival has hosted some of the most prominent names in Italian jazz, from Stefano Di Battista to Danilo Rea, Gianluca Petrella, and GeGè Telesforo, establishing itself as one of the most anticipated summer musical events in the province of Bari.
In 2026, GustoJazz reaches its eighth edition. The festival preview took place on June 26 and 27, 2026, with free admission in Piazza Sedile and Piazza Abbazia, featuring a jazz DJ set by Fabio Tosti feat. Mike Torquato and the Nick The Nightfly Quintet concert "My Italian Fantasy." The full program for the main festival, scheduled for early July, is announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
GustoJazz is much more than a music festival: it is an experience that weaves together culture, gastronomy, and Apulian identity. Strolling through the illuminated squares of Corato, listening to great live music, and savoring local products makes every evening a short journey into the authentic soul of Puglia.
