About Gusto Italia

Gusto Italia on Tour is a major traveling fair showcasing Italian food, wine, and craftsmanship, held every summer on the Lungomare Speranza in Marina di Casal Velino, in the heart of the Cilento region. From July 2 to 12, 2026, dozens of stalls will offer regional specialties, traditional products, and handmade creations, accompanied each evening by folk music, street performances, and activities for children. Admission is free every day from 5:00 PM to midnight, with views of the sea and the beaches of the Cilento National Park.

A traveling fair that chooses Cilento

Gusto Italia on Tour is a traveling exhibition dedicated to fine food, traditional products, artistic craftsmanship, and handmade creations, organized by the Associazione Italia Eventi. For years, the caravan has traveled through squares, historic centers, and seafronts across Central and Southern Italy, and for three consecutive summers, it has chosen Marina di Casal Velino, in the municipality of Casal Velino, province of Salerno, in Campania. The Cilento stop has become one of the most anticipated events of the local summer season.

Lungomare Speranza transformed

For eleven days, the Lungomare Speranza becomes a long promenade of stalls and exhibition booths overlooking the sea. You can walk with the sound of the waves on one side and the aromas of the stalls on the other, in the atmosphere of a typical Southern Italian evening stroll: families, tourists vacationing in Cilento, and residents mingle until midnight.

What to taste

The selection brings together producers from various Italian regions, with a strong representation from the South. Among the specialties you will find along the way:

  • Calabrian 'Nduja and traditional cured meats
  • Artisanal cheeses and Campanian buffalo mozzarella
  • Giffoni PGI Hazelnuts and confectionery from Salerno
  • Licorice, preserves, extra virgin olive oil, and local wines
  • Fresh pasta, bread, and baked goods
  • Sicilian specialties, from almond pastries to baked goods

Craftsmanship and handmade creations

Alongside the food, an important section is reserved for artisan trades: handmade jewelry, leather goods, artisanal ceramics, textiles, and small gift items. It is the most "workshop-like" soul of the fair, allowing you to take home a unique piece and speak directly with the person who made it.

Music, shows, and sand sculptures

Every evening, the program features free entertainment: folk music, percussion, street performers, cabaret, and moments designed for children. In 2026, the fair joined forces with Areneide, the sand sculpture festival that brought international sculptors and public workshops to the beach of Marina di Casal Velino: a combination that made the first part of the event even richer.

The setting: Casal Velino and Cilento

Casal Velino is located in the heart of the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, just a few kilometers from the archaeological area of Velia and the coast of Ascea and Pioppi, where the Mediterranean diet was first promoted. The marina is famous for its award-winning beaches and crystal-clear sea: participating in Gusto Italia means combining an evening of tastings with a day at the beach and a visit to the archaeological and natural heritage of Cilento.

A free-admission event

The formula is simple and accessible: free admission every day of the event, from 5:00 PM to midnight, with only the cost of tastings and purchases at the exhibitors' stalls. The event is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Casal Velino, the Cilento National Park, the Salerno Chamber of Commerce, and CNA Salerno, in collaboration with the local Pro Loco.

Gusto Italia — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Gusto Italia on Tour took place from July 2 to 12 on the Lungomare Speranza in Marina di Casal Velino, in the Cilento region, with daily opening hours from 5:00 PM to midnight and free admission. Eleven days of food, wine, and craft stalls, enriched by evening shows and the pairing with Areneide, the sand sculpture festival hosted on the beach during the first days of the event.

For the third consecutive summer, the traveling fair of the Associazione Italia Eventi chose the seafront of Marina di Casal Velino, in the province of Salerno. From July 2 to 12, 2026, the seafront was filled with exhibitors dedicated to regional specialties and artistic craftsmanship, with tastings, direct sales, and a completely free evening calendar of music and shows.

The first part of the exhibition was intertwined with Areneide, the sand sculpture festival scheduled from July 2 to 5, which brought international sculptors and workshops open to children to the beach. On the final weekend, from July 10 to 12, the stage hosted the folk music that has become the signature of Gusto Italia.
