Großes Sommerfest of the Sexten Volunteer Fire Brigade

A village festival at the foot of the Sesto Dolomites

The Großes Sommerfest of the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Sexten is the grand summer festival organized annually by the Sexten Volunteer Fire Brigade in the municipality of Sexten, in the province of Bolzano, at the eastern edge of South Tyrol. The event is held at the covered pavilion of Haus Sexten on Dolomitenstraße, in the heart of the famous Sesto Dolomites and the Three Peaks region.

Three days of celebration and conviviality

The event spans an entire weekend, from Friday to Sunday. On Friday and Saturday, the festivities kick off in the evening, while on Sunday, things start at noon for lunch. The covered pavilion ensures the festival can be enjoyed in any weather, a precious detail at high altitude where mountain weather can change rapidly.

Program and atmosphere

The heart of the festival is the live music, featuring the traditional concert by the Musikkapelle Sexten, the local brass band, alongside various groups performing in the evenings. Guests can also enjoy Tyrolean culinary specialties prepared by the volunteers, a grand raffle with numerous prizes, and entertainment for the little ones, including a bouncy castle.
