Groppello, the soul of Valtenesi

The Groppello Wine Festival in Calvagese della Riviera, a municipality in the province of Brescia nestled in Valtenesi, is dedicated to Groppello, particularly Groppello di Mocasina: a native grape variety that represents the enological identity of this hilly area between the hinterland and the Brescia side of Lake Garda.

Wineries in celebration

The heart of the event are the local wineries — seventeen in the 2025 edition — offering their wines for tasting. The festival thus becomes a showcase for local production and an opportunity to get to know a wine with a distinctive character, deeply linked to the agricultural history of Valtenesi.

Five evenings of taste

For five evenings, the Don Luigi Poli sports field transforms into the festival's hub, with a programme that combines:

• tastings of Groppello and wines from participating wineries;
• spit-roast and typical Brescia gastronomy;
• live music and dancing evenings.

A festival that has grown over time

Organised by the 'Gnari del Gropél' group with the patronage of the Municipality, the festival reached its tenth edition in 2025, growing year by year to become one of the most anticipated food and wine events at the beginning of September in Valtenesi. An event that enhances the bond between community, wine, and landscape.
