About Grappa Ultra Trail
A new ultratrail on Monte Grappa
The Grappa Ultra Trail is a trail running race that winds its way through the Monte Grappa massif, recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, straddling the provinces of Vicenza, Treviso, and Belluno. The event, in its first edition in 2026, focuses on a territory where historical memory and nature merge.
From Bassano to the Ancient Abbey
The start is set in Piazza Libertà, in the heart of Bassano del Grappa, while the finish is at the Antica Abbazia di Borso del Grappa, in the province of Treviso. The longest route, the 80 km, features approximately 4,400 meters of positive elevation gain and passes through iconic locations such as the Ponte Vecchio, Col Moschin, the Finestron, Monte Asolone, and the Rifugio Bassano.
Routes for all levels
In addition to the 80 km, the event offers a 40 km (approx. 2,500 m elevation gain) and a 20 km (approx. 1,100 m), as well as an experimental 100 km by invitation. A format designed to welcome both the most experienced ultratrailers and those new to mountain running.
Sport and territory enhancement
Organized by the Consorzio Turistico Vivere il Grappa, the Grappa Ultra Trail was created as a unifying point for the enhancement of the Grappa massif, transforming sport into an opportunity to discover a landscape rich in history and identity.
Grappa Ultra Trail — edition 2026
The inaugural edition of the Grappa Ultra Trail was held on the weekend of May 16-17, 2026, taking trail runners onto the trails of Monte Grappa. The 80 km and 100 km started at 11:59 PM on Saturday, May 16, from Piazza Libertà in Bassano del Grappa, while the 40 km and 20 km kicked off on Sunday, May 17, at 9:30 AM.
The main race, the 80 km with 4,400 meters of elevation gain, was won among men by Kevin Fantinato (9h24'02") ahead of Alberto Ceccato and Alessandro Gomiero. Among women, Martina De Mas from Agordo triumphed (12h23'25"), followed by Laura Mariani and Veronica Tomasi. The event saw participation close to 300 runners in total.
