Polenta and luganeghe at Parco Rizzi in Castelnovo, between June and July
In Castelnovo, a hamlet of Isola Vicentina (province of Vicenza), Parco Rizzi on Via Sant'Antonio hosts one of the longest-running and most beloved festivals in the area every year: the Gran Polù Festival. The name refers to the signature dish, polenta with luganeghe (sausages), the heart of Venetian gastronomic tradition.
Now in its 54th edition, the Gran Polù takes place over the weeks between June and July and boasts the Quality Festival certification. It is organized by Pro Loco Castelnovo APS with the patronage of the Municipality of Isola Vicentina, and represents an identity-defining event for the local community.
The covered food stand is open every evening from 7:30 PM, serving polenta and luganeghe and traditional Venetian dishes. The evenings are enlivened by orchestras, DJ sets, live music, and special guests, in a rich program that runs throughout the festival. The event is also part of the "Desfo Hill" and "Isola Live Festival" evenings.
A municipality at the foot of the Vicenza Prealps, Isola Vicentina and its hamlet of Castelnovo experience the Gran Polù as the major summer event of the area. A festival that combines good food, music, and social interaction, attracting visitors from all over the province of Vicenza.
