The free music festival for Pesaro's youth at the Palla di Pomodoro
GPS – Good Pesaro Sound is one of the freshest additions to the summer calendar in Pesaro, in the Marche region. Born in the summer of 2025 from an idea by a group of young Pesaro residents, the festival quickly established itself as a new hub for cultural and musical gatherings in the city. The formula is simple and successful: free outdoor music, DJ sets by local talents, and a strong spirit of intergenerational sharing.
The heart of the festival is Piazzale della Libertà, home to the famous sculpture Grande Sfera by Arnaldo Pomodoro, known by all Pesaro residents as the Palla di Pomodoro. Overlooking the seafront, it is one of the city's symbolic locations: during GPS evenings, the space transforms into an open-air dance floor, packed with young people, families, and curious onlookers of all ages.
The programme revolves around local DJs, who take turns at the decks from early evening until late at night. In its debut edition, numerous local artists performed, attracting an intergenerational audience and getting many dancing under the Sphere. Admission is always free, in line with the project's philosophy: a free, youthful, and inclusive space where music becomes the common thread of the community.
GPS is not just about entertainment. The festival has a charitable mission: the food trucks and partner stands present during the evenings donate a portion of their proceeds to projects for the redevelopment of city parks and green spaces, chosen together with the community. Music thus also becomes a tool for participation and care for the local area.
Part of the rich summer programme of the Municipality of Pesaro, GPS – Good Pesaro Sound represents one of the most genuine offerings designed for the young audience of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino and the entire Marche Region. An opportunity to experience the seafront with a musical twist, in good company, and with a focus on free admission and inclusivity.
After the success of its debut edition, GPS – Good Pesaro Sound returns to Pesaro in the summer of 2026 for its second edition. The evenings are scheduled at the Palla di Pomodoro, in Piazzale della Libertà on the seafront, with free admission.
Two dates are confirmed for August, August 7th and 21st, 2026, staying true to the festival's formula: local DJs at the decks, outdoor music, and collaboration with food trucks and partner stands supporting projects for the redevelopment of the city's green spaces. The full DJ lineup will be announced by the organisers and the Municipality of Pesaro shortly before the event.
